Brendon Walmsley

Drought Relief Concert

Posted on 20-08-2018

It's being described as the worst drought in living memory. As it continues to tighten its grip across Queensland, the harsh reality of life on the land has made its way into mainstream conversation. But to help ease the impact, we know more than talking is required. When times are tough, that's when the true Aussie spirit shines through as we roll up our sleeves and lend a hand to our mates in need.

On Saturday September 1, a fund-raising concert for drought relief will be held in Toowoomba, featuring local 3 times Golden Guitar winner Brendon Walmsley. Joining Brendon is Lisa Christensen and Tom James. Lisa is an incredible singer and well-known to the Toowoomba musical theatre community having played lead roles in a number of the Empire Theatre's major productions including Phantom of the Opera, Mary Poppins, Hairspray and Les Miserables. Tom James has recently released his debut EP and is regularly performing across south east Queensland.

The concert is a free event, with opportunities throughout the night to donate to the work of Care Outreach - an organisation that has been directly supporting rural and remote Australians for over 25 years.
